New Funky Cafe: Woolfy's
Woolfy's
Finally, a café that is making top quality fresh food at affordable prices in East Tamaki, Auckland. If you live close by or outside the area we highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed and here is why.
Only just recently opened Woolfy's is already a big hit with the locals and other customers coming from around Auckland to experience Woolfy’s fine food and exceptional service.
Woolfy’s is situated below the brand new Higgins building 5 Cryers Rd, East Tamaki. This area of East Tamaki is up and coming with new commercial buildings including Ford, BNZ Partners and Goodmans district and Fisher & Paykel just down the road.
The moment you walk in you will notice the funky decor, hip feel and vibe of Woolfy’s. As you move around to the food display your eyes pop and your mouth suddenly melts to the gorgeous display of cakes, doughnuts, sandwiches and pastries. All you can think is where should I start?
You can pop into Woolfy's for a coffee (Kokako) or tea (Zealong organic grown in the Waikato).
You will be tempted by their divine treats and feel like you can’t leave without taking one away. All food is made on site every day, so you can always look forward to fresh tasting delights.
Woolfy's have a full breakfast/brunch and lunch menu. They specialize in delicious locally sourced food that is free range and organic where possible.
We have had enjoyed coffee and Woolfy's amazing cakes before.
This time owner Rodger Liu invited us to enjoy Woolfy's brunch menu on Saturday.
Greg started with single origin filter coffee and then hit the brunch menu, he ordered The Full Moon (eggs of your choice on sourdough with bacon, smoked pork sausage, corn fritter, grilled tomato, mushrooms with baked black beans), the quality of food is exceptional and more than enough to full a man’s heart and stomach.
I started with a Mean Green smoothie and ordered the Brioche French Toast with melted marshmallows, boysenberry cream and chocolate sauce (yum yum). I also had a side of bacon with maple syrup on the side (a suggestion from manager Scarlett), spot on. It wasn’t too sweet but plenty of sugary treats hidden in the dish not shown on the menu.
The staff is very attentive and more than happy to cater for any food types or allergies you have or even if you are after a slight change to what is on the menu, don’t be afraid to just ask.
What makes this place special is what they do for their customers like on Saturday’s a candyfloss machine comes out and candyfloss on a stick is handed around to the delight of the kids and of course adults that just want to be a kid.
Woolfy's is not open on Sunday at this stage, but Rodger and his team are working on making this happen. It's so popular that if you are going during peak times or want to take a large group we recommend booking a table.
We look forward to heading back to Woolfy's and making our way through the brunch and lunch menu.
