Lunch at Pulau Gili Meno
Pulau Gili Meno
Part 2 of a 3 part blog series
After much fun time in the water, it was time for lunch. We headed to the northern tip of Pulau Gili Meno. The smallest and quietest of the three Gilis, Gili Meno has some great beaches with white sand and clear blue water. Honeymooners will definitely love this island, more quiet and romantic than Gili T.
There are only a few restaurants to choose from on the eastern side and accommodation options are mostly limited to mid-range resorts and bungalows. The western side of the island is the quietest, so there's plenty of privacy.
When we arrived on Gili Meno on the northern side there was a small outdoor restaurant to have some local food and much needed cold beers. It's extremely hot even in the shade so best to keep hydrated with water and of course a few cold ones. The view was great looking out over the clear blue water and just spending some time chatting.
After lunch, we went searching for turtles. Because our guide went snorkelling with us all the time he knows the spots to look at keeping an eye out for any turtles. Of course, he spotted the first one, but it was a bit deep then he found another.
As we got closer to the shore we used the bread our guide got and fed the fish. Hundreds of fish swam around us, probably the best amount of fish we have seen in one area, not just the same type but many different species, very cool.
