So why did we love Qunci Villas?
Was it the amazing breakfasts with a perfect beachfront location, the well-manicured gardens, the stunning beachfront infinity pools, the warm crystal blue ocean at your feet or the staff?
I would have to say all the above.
As a couple without children, we always try and look for hotels that are more adult orientated and Qunci Villas hit the nail on the head. Check Qunci Villa Reviews
It is located directly on a beautiful tranquil beach and only a 5-minute taxi ride to the town of Sengigi, one of the main tourist's spots, MAP.
Accommodation Options at Qunci Villas
Our Garden View Room was just perfect, great size and an Indonesian feel. We were lucky enough to have a single garden villa with our own private garden entrance which leads to a lovely veranda. Plus the best outdoor bathroom and shower we have ever experienced. Everything was clean and tidy and l loved the little touches like the budda in the room and local art on the walls. Sorry no T.V, but if you want one you can order it. But seriously if you need a T.V you shouldn't go to Quinci Villas.
Food at Quinci Villas
With the resort being situated in front of the beach, breakfast and dinner were enjoyed with a spectacular ocean view. We loved the fact that the resort offered complimentary breakfast and you can choose to have breakfast in your room, or at any of the open-air Qunci Restaurants.
With such an amazing location getting a breakfast beachfront spot was not always easy and sometimes meant an early start (or luck), however in saying that the open air restaurants have great views so you certainly are not missing out.
We started every morning with a wonderful fresh breakfast which included a fresh fruit platter, fresh juice, coffee or tea and then something from the great al la carte menu (offering international and local flavours). If you wanted 2 main options just ask, as they were more than happy to accommodate, which Greg took advantage of and selected a different country breakfast each morning, yum, yum 😊.
Qunci Villas Facilities
Most days were spent chilling by one of three infinity pools - none smoking, smoking and an adult only pool. All three are just as wonderful as each other located right on the oceanfront, however, for some reason, the Quatic Pacific 30 meter oceanfront infinity pool was our favourite.
We loved hanging and relaxing by the infinity pool looking straight out onto the ocean where we spent most of our time swimming, reading books, sunbathing.
Even spoiling ourselves with a bottle of champagne to celebrate life, why not we are on holiday.
The Quatic Hindia (15meter adult only infinity pool) closest to the Nooq Lounge Bar which offered great cocktails, tapas to be enjoyed at sunset, after-dinner drinks, or whenever you wish to just relax in the soothing comfort of this idyllic bar.
If you felt like a drink or something to eat, staff were happy to serve you throughout the day and there is nothing like a cocktail happy hour from 5 -7pm at any of the amazing restaurants, bar or beachfront locations to watch the sunset. If lucky you might get a great view of Mt Gunung Agung of Bali rising on the horizon.
During our stay, we had wonderful dinners at both the onsite restaurants and never felt we had to leave, however, if you feel like something else Sengigi is only a 5-minute taxi drive away.
The 2 restaurants on site are the QUAH MEDITERRANEAN RESTAURANT and QUALI SEAFOOD RESTAURANT where we enjoyed great meals. At the meditation restaurant we had pizza one night and then on our final night booked a beachfront table.
Amazing fresh pasta the best tiramisu l have ever had and trust me l love tiramisu.
The seafood restaurant had more of an Indonesian fusion flair and was where we enjoyed a really lovely meal again beachfront. If you want a beachfront table make sure you book as it gets busy and there are only a few tables.
What we really loved about dinning at both the restaurants was the special touches they added and the great service. We found during our stay the staff was amazing, friendly and happy to accommodate.
Sick of Sitting By the Pool?
There are surfing lessons and snorkelling straight in front of the resort, (we always take our own snorkelling set however, there are plenty of spots to hire them.
Go for lovely walks along the beach, sometimes we felt like we were the only people on the whole island was so blissful.
Have a spa at the resort, go island hopping which the hotel can arrange or head to Sengigi to book. There are mountains to climb and waterfalls to see as well as lots of interesting and local sites. One thing you will not see in Lombok is the big shopping malls and restaurants like Bali. However, do not let this put you off. Book a few days at the end of your trip to do shopping in Bali, most international flights will have to go back through Bali.
We can definitely say that this resort ticked all the boxes for us. We felt super relaxed. Our only regret is that we didn’t book longer.
We can't wait for our return trip back to enjoy not only Qunci Villas but exploring the island of Lombok.
By the way, you can find a nice 360° view of the resort, it looks big but it's not!
Suggestions of What to Take on the Trip
- Books for reading
- Goal setting/inspirational pad and pen
- Your own snorkelling gear
- Cash - not a lot but good to have it
- Casual gear as well as something nice for dinners
- There is a fridge in the room
- Suntan lotion
- Sun hat
- And a don’t need to do anything attitude
Note: all of the above is our own personal opinion and the resort did not pay for any of our stays.
