Zazen Koh Samui Restaurant
Zazen Koh Samui Restaurant
On the beautiful Thailand island of Koh Samui, there are many different types of accommodation, from large to boutique resorts to make your holiday memorable.
Once you have chosen your piece of paradise a lot of the boutique resorts offer non-guest access to their restaurants and or spa facilities, so you can experience their delights without having to stay a night.
We decided to checkout Zazen Koh Samui Restaurant for lunch and a massage, Zazen has won many global awards for both their Zazen restaurant and Le Spa Zen.
Watch the full video here.
We booked in for Zazen's beach front weekly lunch called, "Enjoy a light and fast lunch in a stunning environment".
Zazen Boutique Resort & Spa is located at the very western end of the famous Bohput beach, with only 26 rooms, garden and beachfront it certainly is a boutique resort
When you come off the main road of Koh Samui you find yourself with a basic yet calm and inviting entrance. As you make your way through the resort you can’t help but feel the weight lift off your shoulders with the beautiful gardens, walkways and water features that flow all the way to the main pool and restaurant.
You kind of want it to continue a bit longer but the pool, restaurant and finally the view from the restaurant area makes you go wow, okay I can sit and relax here all day.
The main restaurant looks out over the Bohput beach towards Koh Phangan, we had a lovely table right at the front and like most restaurants in Koh Samui open air with fans and a cool sea breeze.
Zazen Koh Samui Restaurant
Of course, when at Zazen you have to try their signature cocktails we had the Zazen Barfly and the Saumi Hip both amazing.
For lunch, we had a starter each,
Khun Ti Salad (strawberry, avocado, blueberry, cherry tomato, mango rip, rocket salad and almond slices with honey balsamic dressing) and
Yum Mamunang Kab Poonim (spicy green mango salad with soft-shell crab tempura) both were refreshing especially since it was so hot.
Main,
Nasi Goreng (Indonesian style fried rice with grilled chicken satay, prawn cracker and a fried egg) and
Tasmanian Salmon Steak (grilled fillet of Tasmanian salmon with sautéed baby spinach and oyster mushrooms served with hollandaise sauce), both were good portions for lunch.
Time just seemed to go by while at lunch, probably because of the view and the chilled atmosphere but we suddenly realised it was time for our massage.
Zazen Le Spa Zen
Le Spa Zen is located just slightly back from the main area but nicely situated amongst the gardens and water fountains which makes this place so tranquil and real.
After a brief consultation and choice of fragrant oil, we were shown the area to change with shower, toilet and locker facilities.
Le Spa Zen has many private and tranquil places to enjoy your massage. We ended up in their cool room upstairs and being able to listen to the waterfall, rushing of the trees and birds chirping.
We had an amazing afternoon at Zazen and it was nice to get away from the traffic, tourist spots and just enjoy what this boutique resort offers.
Zazen is your little oasis in Koh Samui and whether you stay or come as a guest its definitely a boutique resort that offers a peaceful serenity about it so that you can recharge, rejuvenate and step away from the world.
As a guest Zazen Boutique Resort offers world-class cuisine for lunch or dinner in a casual or romantic setting.
So next time you are in Koh Samui check out this boutique resort for food or spa treatment.
A big thank you to Mira and the staff for inviting us for the afternoon to enjoy the facilities and food Zazen has to offer. To see the full video go here.
